Dry Storage & Cooler Addition

A leader in Wisconsin’s dairy industry, Decatur Dairy selected Kraemer Brothers to construct their expansion project. Evidenced by our decades of skill and experience in this industry, our client was referred to us by a neighboring dairy facility. With the original facility bursting at the seams, this expansion nearly doubled the existing plant and kept all operations at one site. This project involved adding a new cooler, dry storage, curing room, packaging area, and shipping center. By remodeling existing space, an additional production line was added. The addition and renovation provide more space for advanced technology, which will help Decatur Dairy meet changing standards in the dairy industry. The cooler, packaging, and box room feature a refrigeration system to reach the desired temperature, while the curing room utilizes an in-floor radiant heating system. Insulated overhead doors were implemented to help maintain the strict temperature requirements in both rooms. The result of this expansion project will help increase Decatur Dairy’s milk intake, making their award-winning Muenster, Havarti, and Stettler Colby Swiss cheese!
